Graphic Designer - Apparel

Turn approved design direction into production-ready apparel graphics, artwork, and technical flats for global brand programs.

UNCVRD is hiring a part-time Apparel Graphic Designer to turn approved design direction into clear, production-ready visual assets across client programs. The work covers apparel graphics, print and repeat artwork, labels and packaging, and the technical flats and detail sketches that support accurate tech pack builds.

This role works closely with the Senior Designer, Designer, and Product Developers to translate approved product direction into Illustrator files that are precise, organized, and easy for teams and factories to use. The main Designer retains ownership of CLO 3D, patternmaking, grading, fit, measurement specifications, and final technical approval. Reports to the Merchandising Director.

Graphic design and brand assets

  • Develop apparel graphics, print and repeat patterns, placements, colorways, and production artwork that reflect each client's approved brand direction.
  • Create labels, hangtags, packaging, trim and accessory artwork, and presentation assets from approved brand requirements and supplied copy.
  • Prepare organized, factory-ready artwork files with clear color, scale, repeat, and placement information.

Technical illustration and tech pack support

  • Create accurate front and back technical flats, detail sketches, and exploded views in Adobe Illustrator from the main Designer's approved product direction.
  • Build the visual pages that support tech packs, including artwork placement, construction and stitch illustrations, trims, and detail callouts.

Production artwork and review

  • Update visual tech pack pages and production artwork after approved comments, maintaining clean version control for each sample round.
  • Review strike-offs, artwork samples, labels, and packaging for graphic accuracy, color, scale, and placement, flagging discrepancies to the main Designer and Product Developer.
  • Keep source artwork, technical illustrations, and supporting files current in UNCVRD OS and Google Drive, with no verbal-only commitments.

Collaboration and workflow

  • Work alongside the Senior Designer, Designer, Product Developers, Sourcing Lead, and factories to make visual information clear, consistent, and usable.
  • Prepare visual options and presentation assets for internal and client design reviews, incorporating approved feedback promptly and accurately.
  • Use approved AI and automation tools thoughtfully for ideation, file preparation, drafting, translation, and reporting while protecting client and company information.

Tools

  • Design: Adobe Illustrator (essential), Adobe Photoshop, Canva, and other approved graphic design tools.
  • Technical documentation: Adobe Illustrator, UNCVRD OS (PLM), and Google Drive.
  • Communication and files: Slack, Gmail, WhatsApp, Zalo, WeChat, and Google Drive.
  • AI: Claude and ChatGPT for company-approved drafting, summarizing, translation, file preparation, and reporting.

What you bring

  • 3+ years of experience in apparel graphic design, technical illustration, or tech pack support, ideally with a manufacturer, sourcing office, or apparel brand.
  • Advanced Adobe Illustrator skills, including polished vector artwork, apparel flats, detail sketches, production art, and disciplined file organization.
  • A portfolio that shows both apparel graphics and clear technical flats or detail sketches for garments, bags, or accessories.
  • Working knowledge of garment construction, stitching, trims, fabric behavior, and factory terminology sufficient to illustrate approved decisions accurately.
  • Experience preparing labels, packaging, and repeat or placement artwork, with strong attention to scale, color, and production constraints.
  • Confidence working from a main Designer's direction and incorporating feedback without losing accuracy, consistency, or version control.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication. English proficiency is required, Vietnamese is a plus.
  • Organization, curiosity, close attention to detail, and a reliable habit of keeping documentation current.
