Designer - Apparel
Lead design across client programs from concept through production, owning creative direction and the technical truth of every garment.
UNCVRD partners with modern global brands to create exceptional apparel, bags, and accessories, operating as a seamless extension of internal brand teams from first sketch to delivery. In-house design, technical engineering, rapid sampling, and independent quality control sit under one roof in Saigon, Vietnam.
This is a full-time Designer role leading design across client programs. Client briefs and brand DNA become commercially strong collections, and that intent carries all the way into precise, production-ready specifications. The work moves fluidly between creative and technical: collections developed in Illustrator and CLO 3D, tech packs owned end to end, fit sessions led, and the pod mentored. Approved AI tools are part of the workflow. Works alongside the Senior Designer and reports to the Merchandising Director.
Design and development
- Translate client briefs and brand DNA into commercially strong, design-forward collections, and set seasonal concept, color, and material direction.
- Develop sketches, CADs, and CLO 3D visuals that communicate proportion, detail, and silhouette.
- Lead seasonal design reviews and adopt or drop sessions, and own aesthetic sign-off at each design gate.
Technical design and tech packs
- Own the technical truth of each garment: construction callouts, measurement specs, fit, and grade rules, built with the Pattern Maker and Product Developer.
- Develop and correct patterns using Gerber, Lectra, or an equivalent CAD system, and sign technical completeness before sampling.
- Carry design intent through proto, sampling, and production.
Sampling and fit
- Measure factory samples against the tech pack and product manual standards, and conduct fittings on a dress form or fit model.
- Consolidate fit and construction comments into one updated tech pack per round, and confirm readiness to advance.
- Lead fit sessions via video when the client is included.
Collaboration and innovation
- Work alongside the Senior Designer and the pod to align creative direction and technical execution, and mentor Product Developers and the technical design team.
- Bring approved AI and automation tools into the design and development workflow, and help set the standard for how the team uses them.
- Keep design files, tech pack content, and fit comments current in UNCVRD OS and Google Drive, with no verbal-only commitments.
Tools
- Design: Adobe Illustrator, CLO 3D, Canva, and Gerber, Lectra, or an equivalent CAD patternmaking system.
- Communication and files: Slack, Gmail, WhatsApp, Zalo, WeChat, Google Drive.
