Product Developer - Apparel

Own client programs from development through delivery: feasibility, costing, tech pack, sampling loop, and the factory relationship through bulk.

UNCVRD is a full service product design and sourcing company partnering with modern brands on apparel, bags, and accessories, operating as a seamless extension of internal brand teams from first sketch to delivery. A pod operating model gives every phase one accountable owner, and the Saigon team connects premium brands to global manufacturing.

This is a full-time Product Developer role carrying client programs from development through delivery. The role is Client Leader for assigned brands, converting approved design intent into manufacturable, profitable, on-time product and owning the style end to end: feasibility and costing, the tech pack and BOM, the sampling loop, and the factory relationship through bulk. Approved AI tools are part of the workflow. Reports to the Merchandising Director.

Development and costing

  • Run feasibility and commercial validation before the tech pack build, and validate costing and margin with the Sourcing Lead and suppliers.
  • Own the tech pack and BOM, built with the Technical Designer and Pattern Maker, and locked at pre-production handoff.
  • Select materials and trims with the Sourcing Lead, and request headers, sample yardage, and lab dips.

Sampling and fit

  • Run the sampling loop from proto through size set, measuring factory samples against the tech pack and product manual standards.
  • Conduct fittings on a dress form or fit model, and document fit and alteration suggestions with the Technical Designer.
  • Consolidate comments into one updated tech pack per round, confirm readiness to advance, and lead fit sessions via video when the client is included.

Production, quality, and factory

  • Act as the primary factory interface through delivery, and keep the UNCVRD OS WIP report current weekly.
  • Confirm the pre-production meeting is complete before bulk starts, and track bulk against the approved calendar.
  • Co-sign shipment release with the independent QC Inspector, drive corrective action plans with the factory, and hold shipment until issues are closed.

Client and team

  • Run one weekly status call per assigned brand with a written recap within 24 hours, and confirm milestones at each gate.
  • Lead feasibility, margin trade-off, and technical clarification conversations with the client.
  • Keep milestones, costing, BOMs, sample status, and client feedback current in UNCVRD OS, with no verbal-only commitments.

Tools

  • Communication and files: Slack, Gmail, WhatsApp, Zalo, WeChat, Google Drive.
  • Operations: Google Drive as system of record, UNCVRD OS as PLM.
  • AI: Claude and ChatGPT for company-approved automation, drafting, summarizing, translation, and reporting.
